The Story of Swagistan begins on Halloween of 2021. Actually... lets back track a little bit.
Its the Pandemic, everybody has been stuck in their homes for about a year at this point, and I've been playing this little game called Garrys Mod ever since I got my hands on it in early 2019, I've heard of the game earlier when I was younger from watching youtubers play it, and it kept me company when the world was locked up.
It's 2021, I heard about this gmod community called the Garry's Mod Meta, basically, its ingame factions/groups fighting eachother, and to me, that sounded like the coolest shit ever. So after a couple months of contemplating what faction to join (or even to join at all), on Halloween, I joined the Gmod Meta, with my 1st faction being TTN, short for "The Turtle Nation", who turned out to be a very interesting faction. (If you know anything about TTN, you know they're bad news but I didn't know that yet.)
After I left TTN due to finding out what they were (kiddie nazi wannabes), I didn't touch the GMod Meta again until summer of 2022. Which is when I joined the ACA (short for Anti-Cringe Association), the superpower of the Meta at this time. I met many people here that I still talk to to this day. (Magi, for one!) However all good things come to an end, as the ACA had long running issues with certain bad actors and general rot, I won't go any further in detail here, since that isn't what this is about, but the gist is that the discord server got bombed and it disbanded in early 2023.
However, before the ACA fell, Me and Magi developed a friendship, I introduced him to my friend group which grew during the pandemic as a mix of irl and online friends, and finally, on January 2nd, 2023, Swagistan was (technically) created.
To explain the "technically" at the end of the last sentence. the server wasn't Swagistan when it was 1st created, because we didn't think of a proper theme yet, so we named it as the UACN (Short for United Anti Cringe Nation), a name inspired (or more or less copied) from the ACA, which was still around at this time. Before Swagistan was actually thought of, we brainstormed ideas for a different theme of the server, as the UACN was obviously a very blatant copy of the ACA. It wasn't until Febuary 25th that Swagistan was ACTUALLY created, that being the day we came up of it, being the banner of our friend group ever since.
